An estimate, not advice

The result is an estimate based on assumptions. What a battery or heat pump really saves depends on your usage, the weather, energy prices and rules that can change. EnergieNuchter is not a financial adviser. Don't base a decision on our result alone. No rights can be derived from the result.

Our assumptions

Once the check works, every result will list the assumptions it uses, including:

• energy prices from the past, with the date of the data;
• the rules for 2026 (net metering) and from 2027 (net metering ends);
• a usage profile scaled to your answers;
• no VAT refund, and only the subsidies we find for your postcode;
• product prices, with the date they were checked.

What our verdicts mean

"Adds up", "Partly adds up" and "Doesn't add up" always refer to our calculation, which is why they carry "by our calculation". They are not a judgement about the honesty of the seller.

Plug-in batteries

If we suggest a plug-in battery, keep the following in mind:

• We calculate with at most 800 watts through a normal wall socket. More power needs a dedicated group (circuit) in your fuse box. Have it installed by a qualified installer.
• Report the battery to your grid operator where required. Ask your grid operator if you are unsure.
• Check with your insurer whether your home insurance covers a home battery.
• Follow the manufacturer's instructions, especially on placement and fire safety.

We check our calculations carefully, but mistakes can happen. A contact address for reporting mistakes will follow before launch.
